Who We Are

At ForestFoods.ca, we are a newly formed community of foragers, naturalists, eco-minded chefs, and wild food lovers. Our team came together in early 2025 with a shared mission: to demystify, celebrate, and protect the incredible world of British Columbia's wild mushrooms and botanicals. ๐Ÿ‘

We saw a real need for better connections between everyday Canadians and the wild foods growing in our own backyards. Too often, delicious treasures like morel, chanterelle, and pine mushrooms, or vibrant wild botanicals like spruce tips and fireweed, remain mysteries to most people. Our driving motivation is to change that-through simple, friendly education, real-time local guidance, and support for responsible, joyful foraging.

What sets us apart? It's our transparency, grassroots expertise, and respect for the land. Our contributors include certified mushroom identifiers, active members in sustainable forest-based bio-economy initiatives, landscape restoration advocates, and citizens participating in Indigenous harvest management workshops. Together, we blend scientific expertise with traditional knowledge and hands-on foraging.

We are truly independent and not backed by any large companies. This website is powered by friends, foodies, and community members who explore the woods whenever we can.
